A message from Janette on her new album:

Image of pianist Janette MasonD’Ranged is my third studio album.

A collaboration with some of the UK’s finest jazz singers and musicians and a vehicle to showcase my talents as an arranger and pianist.

I have spent the last year and a half as resident Musical Director at Hideaway Live Music venue in South London where I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with an eclectic group of musicians. This has given me the inspiration to put this project together.

The concept behind D’Ranged was to take classic soul, jazz and pop tunes and gives them a brand new jazz sensibility. I have assembled an outstanding group of musicians and singers, who might not otherwise cross paths, to execute my vision.

The CD consists of nine new arrangements including Bowie, Bacharach, Bee Gees, Alison Moyet, Rodgers and Hart and more, all re-harmonised, re-orchestrated and given a brand new personality.

The production quality on this album was very important to me, so I brought in my long term colleague, engineer and producer, Andrew Tulloch and went into the amazing recording studio, Assault and Battery 2, home of legendary producers Flood (U2) and Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys) in January.
