Newly formed six-piece jazz-edged groove-fuelled band J-Sonics made their barnstorming debut at the 2012 London Jazz Festival playing to a rave reception at a sold-out gig at Soho's Spice Of Life. Bringing together their own meodically-charged originals alongside fresh takes on classics by Flora Purim/Airto, John Coltrane and Roy Hargrove, J-Sonics bring a refreshing blast of funk, Latin, Brazilian and African groove-power to their live performances.

Co-led by up-and-coming saxophonist Matt Telfer, talented guitarist/composer Clement Regert and versatile electric bassist/composer Mike Flynn the group also features rising star trumpeter Andy Davies, explosive drummer Gabor Dornyei and driving percussionist Jon Newey.J-Sonics deliver their dynamic groove-fuelled sound at Hideaway With a huge range of collective experience J-Sonics band members have worked with numerous leading musicians including acclaimed Hungarian drummer Dornyei's several world tours with the Michael Jackson Thriller show, trumpeter Davies' weekly jam session at Ronnie Scott's and Regert's numerous sessions and gigs with the likes of Liane Carroll, Dennis Rollins and Quentin Collins.

Backed by a full-throttle rhythm section, who are adept at everything from hip hop and funk to swing and fast Latin-jazz grooves, the trumpet, sax and guitar frontline are pushed to exciting musical highs as the band thrive on heat of the moment improvisation, killer tunes and boundless energy.
