Rambling Valentines

London-based trio Rambling Valentines developed from a musical collaboration between Glyn Hawke (guitars, vocals) and Bronwyn Ormsby (vocals). They were inspired by an ability to blend their voices to create inventive, seductive harmonies and a shared love of acoustic music. The addition of multi-instrumentalist Trevor Hyett (banjo, mandola, mandocello, tenor guitar) completed the line-up, enabling us to express some of our favourite songs through the use of blended harmonies and warm-toned acoustic instruments, exploring understatement and space in our arrangements.
They enjoy reinterpreting songs by artists such as Laura Marling, K. T. Tunstall, Gillian Welch, Joni Mitchell, Leann Rimes, Sandy Denny, Brandy Clark; with others chosen from moments and places in each of their lives.

Anne Sumner

Comparisons for Anne’s tender yet powerful vocals have been drawn from across the board, including Tracy Chapman, Carole King, Joan Armatrading, Eva Cassidy, Sandy Denny and Joni Mitchell – not by any means limited to Anne’s primary influences.

Her songs are - as she is - preoccupied with themes of time, movement, distance, connection, light, and, above all, raw and genuine emotion. She has travelled widely and the visceral effect of the places she has visited, and the emotional currency of nature, permeate her writing. Her live performances are quietly disarming, unique and intimate opportunities to see the workings of a songwriter’s mind and soul up close.

Completing the line-up is B.W. Johnson is a London-based singer-songwriter. He released his first album when he was 16 via Rough Trade, and since then has self released 2 more albums and 2 EPs. He is currently working on a new album for 2019 release.
