Released in 1997, the award-winning Buena Vista Social Club produced by Ry Cooder remains the biggest-selling world music album ever, showcasing the talents of a dream team of veterans from Cuban music’s golden age, including Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo and Compay Segundo.
Join us as we celebrate the 21st anniversary of this iconic and uplifting album in the company of Jesús Cutiño and his band.
An acclaimed guitarist, Jesús moved to London from Havana in 1998 and quickly found himself at the heart of a vibrant Latin musical movement. He joined Ska Cubano in 2004 and has performed on major festival stages across the world.
The passion for the music of his native island still burns as strongly as ever and Jesús leads his nine-piece band from the front as they deliver stunning authenticity and musical vitality.
