A celebration of the music and life of His Purple Highness – with a back catalogue more rich and varied than perhaps any other recording artist, Prince is one of the most influential artists of his generation. David McAlmont & Natasha Watts star on vocals as Hideaway parties “like it’s 1999!"

David McAlmont

Possibly one of the greatest singers this country has ever produced, David McAlmont has collaborated with everyone from Bond composer David Arnold to Michael Nyman, Paul Weller and most famously with Bernard Butler producing the classic hit single Yes. David's music is pure emotion, drawing unique, soulful portraits from his own life and philosophies, all beautifully framed by the finest soul and now he's interpreting the music of Prince in an evocative show you'll love!

Natasha Watts

2012 saw Natasha burst on to the soul scene with the Cool Million single, 'Show Me Off’, this was to be the start of Natasha & Rob Hardt working together on numerous projects, including her eponymous debut which made top ten lists across the country and received airplay on stations such as BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Manchester, Solent and Jazz FM - where it was named album of the week.

Off the back of that wonderful album Natasha was chosen to support Soul Queen, Gladys Knight, on her UK Tour, earning rave reviews along the way.

Natasha’s musical journey has resulted in only what can be described as an evocative musical journal, something she describes as “deeply personal, resonant and cathartic and it’s been in the making for some time now”. It appears that time has come and the album is tipped to fly and with prestigious house and soul label Cool Million supporting and producing it only validates and further cements Natasha’s soulful credentials. Recent regular plays on Jazz, Solar and Smooth FM respectively, also means, for once – you can believe the hype!

Janette Mason - Musical Director & Keys

Janette Mason is by now a familiar face at Hideaway. She took on the role of resident Musical Director in 2012 and has been producing an eclectic array of shows from Bond to Bowie and beyond. Her skills as a composer and arranger can be heard on her 2010 Trio CD ‘Alien Left Hand’ which was nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Award and on the soundtrack to ‘Ruby Blue’ an award winning independent film starring Bob Hoskins. As a keyboard player she has worked with Oasis, Seal, Pulp and Robert Wyatt as well as the cream of the UK’s jazz performers including Clare Martin, Ian Shaw, and Clare Teal.

“A band leader of pugnacious flair and genuine unpredictability.” James Griffiths, The Guardian
