Joining the dots between Funk, Jazz, Afro-beat and more, original London based band The Boom Yeh return to Hideaway for another funky and compelling live performance!

Led by guitarist/composer Jon Speedy in collaboration with saxophonist/horn arranger Ian Bailey, core members include drummer Jimmy Norden (Bad Ass Brass/LTJ Bukem) bass player Dan Swain (Alice Russell/Quantic) and trombone player Nick Mills (Mark Ronson/The Roots).

Their debut album Reverberations To Constellations was released in October 2013 received positive reviews, international acclaim and airplay on BBC Radio 6, Jazz FM and various other international radio networks.

Inspired by classic groove rhythm sections of the 60’s/70’s including The Meters and The Headhunters, the band’s horn led sound counterpoints artists such as Tower Of Power, Parliament and Youngblood Brass Band, interspersed with West African poly-rhythms, the jazz rock fusion of Mahavishnu Orchestra with the contemporary edge of D’Angelo and Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor.
