Jonny Awsum
Back by popular demand at The Streatham Comedy Club, we are proud to have headlining on the first Friday of February, the awesome Jonny Awsum.
After completing an eight-year comedy apprenticeship as barman at The Chuckle Club, Jonny exploded onto the UK comedy scene with a crowd-pleasing set that’s seen him smash hundreds of gigs across the UK.
With his likeable style and trusty guitar, Jonny’s musings include everything from the white lies he tells his girlfriend to his new home town of Croydon and the memory of his first love at eight years old.
In his first two years on the circuit Jonny won the Magners Funhouse Comedy Gongshow, the Comedy Café new acts night and completed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his hit show ‘Playtime’.
Comfortable with any type of gig, Jonny’s feel-good set has captivated audiences at venues including pub back rooms, 400 seat theatres and the nation’s top comedy venues The Glee Club and Jongleurs.
You might recognise Jonny from the EDF TV ad for the London 2012 Olympics (below), where he was recently cast by Trigger Happy TV director Sam Cadman.
Other work includes hosting for Harley Davidson, Polydor Records and Freixenet. Jonny has also enjoyed a taste of stadium work, fronting the main stage at the Silverstone Classic and effortlessly managing the mighty Jedward! He’s also proud to be the public face of Puntigamer beer in Austria!

Romesh Ranganathan
Romesh burst onto the comedy circuit in 2010, gigging regularly at Brighton's Komedia as well as performing at top venues all over the country.
He has forged a fearsome reputation with a set that combines cutting one liners with an acerbic take on the world around him. Definitely one to watch.

Rachel Parris
Rachel Parris started out in improv comedy, and has performed with the Oxford Imps, Mother’s Ruin, Robin and Partridge, Canadian Content and Scenes From Communal Living, the long-running improve hit in London, with a cast including Rob Broderick, Ben Van de Velde and Jessica Fostekew. As well as a variety of improv, Rachel has acted in comedy sketch shows including Correctness Gone Mad, The Life and Times of Sigmund Freud and more recently appeared in Bare Dollar, a comedy play with Eddie award-winning comedians The Marvellous Dorians, which ran to acclaim in Edinburgh and London.
Since early 2010 she has been on the stand-up circuit, performing her own brand of musical comedy and character comedy. She performs regularly across London and is a finalist in the 2010 Funny Women awards.
"Parris is pitch-perfect" - Beth O'Brien, British Theatre Guide
"Precise and adept Rachel Parris - two thumbs up!" - Tim Arthur, TimeOut
Claire Stroud
Claire is classically trained in admin and therefore greatly enjoys any opportunity that does not involve making the tea or filing.
She has been gigging across the South East for the last 3 years and is resident compere at misfits, billed as London’s friendliest comedy club. Beware the sharp barbs behind her fluffy loveliness.
