Roland PerrinAs well as being an impressive and highly experienced jazz pianist, composer and teacher Roland’s Latin Jazz credentials are also impeccable. He applies his extremely impressive writing and performing talents to produce music that he describes as “..incorporating irresistible World music grooves within the European….tradition” which culminated in him travelling to Cuba to record his latest orchestral work “Crossing the Border” with a mix of Cuban Classical, Popular and Jazz musicians. The outfit he’s currently fronting has strong Latin leanings and features some of the finest Latin musicians currently working in the UK. A combination of vocal and instrumental music the material is an infectious mix of Roland’s terrific originals and his own arrangements of classic Jazz and Latin standards. Also featured are the wonderful singer Yvonne Keteku and Kico Cowan on vocals flute. “An excellent band pianist and gifted writer…clever…bright and witty…terrific” Jazz Review. “Assured compositions and sublime arrangements make this refreshingly unpretentious outfit one to watch…” Straight No Chaser “…steeped in African and Latin American influences, guaranteed to get any room dancing” AllAboutJazz.

Testimonials

Hideaway is a brilliant and inspiring addition to the UK live music scene. It is impossible to do a bad gig there. The artists and the punters are treated royally. The cocktails are the dog’s [bananas] too. LOVE IT.
