Natalie Williams

An exceptional singer/songwriter whose distinct style, a unique blend of R&B, vocal jazz and soul, has attracted a thoroughly deserved MOBO nomination last year. With a phenomenal talent that attracted fantastic critical acclaim from the very start of her career, Natalie has drawn comparisons to the likes of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, but with her own Jazz influenced twist. The release of her third album, Secret Garden“elevated her to premier league status in one fell swoop” (B&S magazine), with her fourth solo album, the pop-inspired opus My Oh My, released in September 2010.

Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, Natalie attended the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin where she studied with renowned US jazz vocalist, Judy Niemack, and was touring with the European Youth Jazz Orchestra by the year 2000. Since moving to the UK, Natalie has headlined the country’s most famous venues such as The Jazz Café, Café de Paris, Cargo and the ‘Soul Family Sundays’ at London’s Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.

As Natalie goes from strength to strength, it’s clear she’s the kind of artist who’s pioneering the DIY ethos with a fierce belief in her craft – a drive rewarded in October 2010 when she was nominated for a MOBO award for best UK soul, in a category alongside international legends Sade, Corinne Bailey-Rae and Plan B. Whether she’s moonlighting as sensational singer-songwriter, producer, label owner, or champion of burgeoning talent, she’ll forever be the epitome of a true artist.

"One of the UK’s hottest singers…she effortlessly moves from soul-diva to sensual and sophisticated jazz." Time Out

"The moment she starts to sing she becomes a commanding, strutting presence, scatting with an infectious relish." Telegraph

"I saw her play recently and it was just incredible. She’s a truly real, beautiful star, worthy of everyone’s attention." Jamie Cullum

"She brings to her performances an impressive set of vocal chops as well as a sensational ten-piece backing band. Songs like This Girl, Butterfly and The Way We Like It would, in a parallel universe not too different from our own, have been very big hits indeed." Metro

"People can’t help but go away with a bit of Williams’ natural sparkle having attached itself to them" Deuce

Jim Mullen

Jim Mullen is a truly original voice in contemporary jazz guitar. Originally from Glasgow he moved to London in 1969, going on to work in the groups of Pete Brown (2 albums) Brian Auger (3 albums) Vinegar Joe (1 Album) and Kokomo (1 album). In 1975 he met sax player Dick Morrissey, and they began a 15 year association working as the legendary funk band Morrisey Mullen. After the demise of this band he worked with jazz vocalist Claire Martin (3 albums) and formed a series of quartets (3 albums). As sideman he is in demand by visiting U.S. stars like Gene Harris, Mose Allison, Jimmy Smith, Weldon Irvine, Percy Sledge, Teddy Edwards, Plas Johnson, Jimmy Witherspoon and Terry Collier. He is twice winner of ‘Best Guitar’ in the British Telecom jazz awards and ‘Best Guitar’ in the British Jazz Awards for 2000.

“Jim Mullen is one of the great jazz guitarists working today” Jazzwise magazine
