MORNINGTON LOCKETT is now well established as one of the great British tenor sax players.  After working with the Ronnie Scott quintet for almost three years he went on to be featured on numerous sessions and gigs.  Perhaps best known for his work with singer Sarah Jane Morris and the Tracey’s, Stan and Clark, he is also the featured sax player on drummer Matins Drew’s cd tribute to the late Ronnie Scott, as well as the driving force behind the remarkable “Celebrating the Jazz
Couriers” quintet.  He has a powerful and hugely impressive sound and approach, and this is always a great gig. “Lockett…plays withtremendous fluency and driveEvening Standard; World classJazz Journal; “inspired” Jazzwise Magazine

Testimonials

Thanks to everybody for making Friday night truly special. It was our 11th time at Hideaway and though the other ten were good this was the best yet. Everything seemed close to perfection. The music - Wayne was phenomenal, as were his musicians. The food was superb, the service was exceptional (a special thanks to the waiting staff who managed to weave their way through the dancers without causing problems). The sound was fantastic, and the audience played their part too! I have been gigging for 40 years and realise that nights like Friday don't come very often.
