At the same time nobody slips more happily into rattling bebop with warmth, intelligence and swing.
Described as “the voice of the decade,” it is not by chance that he was the first British Jazz vocalist to be signed to an American label, Milestone, which resulted in a number of highly acclaimed US recordings. Watch out for his latest release on Linn Records, “Lifejacket”, a fabulous collection of his original material.
