"It's easy to see why Larry Dean won Scottish Comedian of the Year... He can make people laugh, a lot. Friendly, charming, an exciting storyteller.. enchanting ****", on solo show, one4review - Aug-2014

"Hooray, then, for Larry Dean who opened up the final section with a funny and distinctive routine about being a non-stereotypical gay man. Or ‘bender’ in the terminology he prefers. He gets some laughs from those familiar old stereotypes, acted out with a silly physicality, but cliches are nattily explained away by him being a ‘homophobic homosexual’ . Experiences such as Grindr inform a lot of the rest of his set, but he has other strings to his bow, as demonstrated by his affectionate but funny descriptions of the rest of his family, which provide a satisfying callback with which to end the set. A clear winner on the night."

Steve Bennett, Chortle - Sep-2013

"The final winner was Larry Dean, a skinny young Glaswegian gay man with not a camp bone in his body, whose hilarious accounts of his family life and the problems his sexuality caused there culminated in the undoubted top gag of the evening, which had the audience roaring for minutes. Obviously, you’ll have to look him out yourself if you want to know what that gag was", Venue Magazine - Apr-2013

"Larry Dean has all you wanted from a classic stand-up. Confident, easy-going, some great lines, and full of surprising twists", Alan Nixon - Apr-2013

"Like fellow Glaswegian gobs Billy Connolly, Kevin Bridges and Janey Godley, Dean is a natural storyteller and his riffs soon evolved into a fascinatingly funny tale with a brilliant pay-off...I'm sure Dean will be winning other awards in the future" Evening Standard

"A very good set, worked well with a tough room" Gary Delaney (Mock The Week)

Winner of the Amused Moose Laugh-Off 2016; and finalist in the Leicester Square Theatre and Laughing Horse new act of the year competitions in 2015.

“Lina is a musical comic with a brilliant line in bawdy songs… storming set!” Evening Standard

“I have no doubt she will hold her own so easily that she’ll have a hand free to hold someone else’s too.” The Guardian

“Slickly done – there’s no denying that the girl’s got talent” Chortle, the UK Comedy Guide
