Femi's music showcases the contrast between life in the UK and his original Nigerian roots, with a contagious feel-good mood that picks up any audience. Expect a night of the best quality Jazz, interwoven with smooth Nigerian rhythms, folklore and Temowo's unique flair on his guitar.

Guitar player Femi Temowo performing on stage“Hugely skilled guitarist … see him switch effortlessly between….Afro-beat grooves and a natty line in post-Wes and Benson solo flights.” - Jazzwise

Richard Olatunde Baker - talking drums
Jonathan Idiagbonya - piano

Femi Temowo first came to the UK in 1986, a ten year old boy with a poor use of the English language, the metal strings of a guitar quickly became his voice, his way of conveying thoughts and emotion, his bridge between the Nigerian roots and a newfound home. With a sheer dedication and willpower few artists possess he went on to finish his studies in Jazz at Middlesex University during the day, heading into town after sunset, plunging as deep as he could into the local Jazz scene to get his sound known in London town.

Aged 21 he had finally a well earned Gibson on his arms, and, largely inspired by the likes of Fela Kuti and George Benson, Femi dreamed to become, in his own words, a lyrical yet technically able player. With a dedicated passion for jazz in all its virtues, his teen dream is now a full bodied reality.

Thriving within the local jazz scene, Temowo has worked alongside the industries biggest and brightest, his fingers no longer just poised on the metal strings of his guitar, but also in composing and producing. His name and talent crosses paths with names like Omar, The Roots, Soweto Kinch, Eska Mtungwaziand and the late Amy Winehouse.
