Big Joe Louis & his Blues Kings

Image of Big Joe Louis performing on stageSeen by many as "the best Blues band in the UK", Big Joe Louis & his Blues Kings will get everyone up and dancing. With a voice that rivals any past name in the trade, Big Joe takes the audience on a energy ride with charisma and an old-time charm. One of the best Speakeasy Sundays, and surely one you wouldn't want to miss.

Whether performing solo or with his band, Big Joe Louis serves up delta fed blues and boogie with an intensity and authenticity that evokes the spirit of the blues in a way unrivaled by any other British artist.

Twice voted “Best Male Vocalist” in the British Blues Awards and with an uncompromising guitar style that can switch from swinging groove to outright attack, Big Joe rightly deserves the accolades earned from live performances at festivals and venues both in UK and across the world.  He has also played with many of the “blues greats”, including David “Honeyboy” Edwards, Carey Bell and Lazy Lester, as well as recording with Van Morrison and Jools Holland.

"Working with Big Joe Louis and His Blues Kings was a real experience and one I would not have missed for the world. Take it from me - this is as tough as it gets this side of the pond!" - Mike Vernon (legendary music producer describing the studio session with Big Joe Louis for the band’s debut album)

“...an important force in modern British Blues.” - The Virgin Encyclopedia of the Blues

"Perhaps the finest set I have ever heard from a UK band..." - Blues & Rhythm
