Dunajska Kapelye's unique violin swings into London's finest live jazz club Hideaway
Be it with their sweet hushy ballads or the fast manouche violin, Dunasjka Kapelye are living proof that there is more to gypsy jazz than Django Reinhardt, this ensemble's tunes hold high the eastern candle. With strong influences from the Balkans, Russia, and Transylvania, the band's violins and Gvirtzman’s highly creative accordion promise to capture any audience.

Piotr Jordan - violin
Jez Cook - guitar
Zac Gvirtzman - piano / accordion
Flora Curzon - violin
Raph Mizraki - double bass
Jez Cook’s guitar and Mizraki’s bass come together as the band sound core, combining to expose a jazzy manouche flavor, the ambience is swiftly moved eastward and to the Balkans, thanks to Gvirtzman’s highly creative accordion. And unlike most gypsy jazz violins, you won’t find the virtuosity of Piotr playing within diving fast-paced solos, but rather in the hushing movements of their ballads and the way he leads this carefully chosen ensemble.
With a spirit lifting sound, Danajska Kapelye will surely instill a long lasting smile within the entire audience, even after the mournful ballads that characterize the genre.
